Braintree — A federal jury convicted a Braintree man on April 9 of defrauding
Medicare of $1.5 million during a one-year period.
Kingsley Tochukwu Eze, 31, the owner of Kings Enterprize in Quincy, was convicted of making a false statement and 10 counts of fraud.
He could face up to 10 years in prison and will be sentenced on July 26.
During an eight-day jury trial before U.S. District Judge Douglas Woodlock, prosecutors said that Eze defrauded Medicare by submitting false reimbursement claims for durable medical equipment.
They said Eze made a false statement in his Medicare enrollment application by omitting the name of an individual who had partial ownership of Kings Enterprize and received 75 percent of the company’s gross proceeds.
